Brighter Super introduces low-cost indexed share options

Increased availability of low-fee indexed options inside superannuation gives members and advisers flexible tools to construct low-cost portfolios, maintaining downward pressure on management fees across the industry.

What happened

Profit-to-member fund Brighter Super launched indexed Australian and international share options on its investment menu, responding to demand from financial advisers. Both options carry an annual fee of 0.08% with no performance fees or transaction costs. The options track the S&P/ASX 300 Accumulation Index and a blended MSCI World Index respectively.

Why it matters here

The addition of passive indexed options provides financial advisers and self-directed members with fee-efficient building blocks inside a profit-to-member super structure. As superannuation balances grow, low-cost investment choices allow members to retain more of their compound investment returns while maintaining broad market exposure across local and global equities.

What to watch

Quarterly fund flow updates tracking member allocations into Brighter Super's newly launched indexed share options relative to its actively managed share strategies.
