Brookfield Inks A$4.1 Billion Acquisition of Reliance Worldwide

Large-scale private equity buyouts highlight selective valuation opportunities in Australian industrials, establishing strong price floors for targeted ASX-listed leaders despite broader market headwinds.

What happened

Reliance Worldwide Corp (ASX: RWC) entered into a Scheme Implementation Deed with Brookfield Corporation, under which Brookfield will acquire 100% of RWC shares at US$3.38 cash per share (approximately A$4.75). The transaction values the business at an enterprise value of roughly A$4.1 billion. RWC shares hit a 52-week high of A$4.68 before settling at A$4.66.

Why it matters here

Offshore asset managers continue to see long-term value in high-quality ASX mid-cap industrials despite high domestic interest rates. The cash takeover offer at a premium provides current RWC shareholders with liquidity and demonstrates that corporate M&A activity remains active at the top end of the market, offering downside protection for well-positioned industrial stocks.

What to watch

Track upcoming shareholder vote schedules and regulatory approval milestones for the Brookfield scheme implementation deed, alongside price movements and takeover speculation across peer ASX-listed industrial names.
